Kehillah High gives Brith Shalom teens an historic opportunity as they join peers from Beth Israel and Beth Yeshurun in a community high school for supplemental Jewish education.

Kehillah High is a Wednesday night program for teens in grades 8 – 12 for shared Judaic learning experiences, social networking opportunities and community service projects. Educational experiences will be offered in three trimesters and will meet at Congregations Beth Israel, Beth Yeshurun and Brith Shalom. A typical Wednesday evening at Kehillah High will include a communal dinner and socializing followed by two 45-minute learning sessions.

“Kehillah High reflects the Houston Jewish community's effort to build bridges and cohesiveness amongst our teens as they explore the gift of being Jewish and further develop their Jewish identifies,” said Cantor Mark Levine, Education Director, Congregation Brith Shalom. “The curriculum will reflect a wide array of Jewish topics providing each teen a solid base as well as an opportunity to delve deeply into areas of focus of their own choosing.  These personal journeys will be guided by Rabbis, Cantors, Education Directors and other superb scholars from within our Houston Jewish community.”
